PNCE Logo Physics Help Request Processor: PhysHelp

Physics Computing Services (PCS) has implemented a Help Request Processor known as PhysHelp in order to track the numerous requests for assistance on computers and networking. We ask that all users use this processor whenever possible when requesting assistance from the PCS staff. Resources permitting, we will try to make initial contact on all requests within a day.

The PhysHelp processsor will allow PCS to track these requests. The requestor will be sent reports by means of e-mail as the status of the request changes.

Suhmitting a Request to PCS (in order of preference):

  1. Issue a 'PhysHelp' command from a PNCE UNIX system. You will be prompted to provide relevant information. Please try to be as complete as possible in describing the problem!
  2. Use the PhysHelp web interface. Please try to be as complete as possible in describing the problem!
