PNCE Logo Print Queues in the PNCE-Unix Environment

A number of printers for use by Physics Department Administrative Staff and by users associated with departmental research groups are accessible from the PNCE-Unix environment. Currently, only HP printers with JetDirect network cards are supported; LPD support will probably be delayed until the spring. These printers are restricted to use by Physics department staff and members of research groups only. Other queues are provided for printing from the Physics OWL.

These print queues are accessible from PNCE-Unix machines using the qpr command. If you are accessing your PNCE (@physics.umd.edu) email from a PC, some additional informaation on printing email is available.

The pnce queue is available for general use by Physics faculty, staff, and members of research groups. However, arrangements should be made in advance of using it with PCS staff to arrange for physical and account access--- use physhelp to request access.
